The oysters were enormous and the garlic prawns were my favourite thing I ate while in Lisbon. The restaurant is a bit out of the way but the views are amazing, and sitting at a table by the waters edge was so peaceful and scenic!

Quite expensive but worth it in my opinion.

It's a big place but in spite of that, the service is very personal and the food quality was excellent. We went at Sunset and it was beautiful

When we arrived, after we were welcomed very friendly by the lady at the door. The waiter told us they have no Paella unfortunately, but something similar, that we might enjoy, which is called Seafood Rice and is served for two person.
We decided to stay and try it and it was the best decision.
Everything we ordered was extremely delicious!
The oysters very fresh and tasty, the wine recommendation of the waiter very light and dry, just like we wished.
They also offered us some bred with Butter and Olives which were delicious.
The food was served very fast and the waiter was one of the friendliest we had in a while.
We recommend 100% Sea Food lovers to eat here

Very tasty fish and seafood, flavors were really good. Sea views from table was the best and after dinner drink with ocean sounds in the deck finished of the whole experience. Staff were very attentive and ready to get parking.

This place was the best! We had a group of six for a late lunch. João was our waiter with excellent support from the rest of the Monte Mar team. The wine was great. The sangria was great. The food was great. João was awesome! The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was beautiful. The waves were stellar and surreal! We could not have had a better time. Thanks to João, our driver Miguel (who picked the restaurant), the staff, and the family ownership of Monte Mar!

A lively environment, an excellent atmosphere, fabulous food, great service from Mel, and an amazing view of everyone working in the kitchen — everything runs perfectly at Monte Mar. My colleague and I have visited Time Out before, and read a recommendation for this place in a blog somewhere. We checked out a few highly recommended stalls, and chose this one because I had a hankering for octopus.

She had the fish of the day and I did, indeed, get my grilled octopus. We enjoyed it thoroughly. The wait was a bit longer than we expected, but it is the case that they were busy and this is made-to-order seafood (it's not McDonalds). I will also say that their octopus is a few EUR more expensive than a few of the other highly recommended stalls. However, the fish is about the same price (we checked out several). For me, it was 100% worth it. I really enjoyed their food.

I had the Arroz de Polvo as well as oysters and some wine. The service has been great, the food was even better and although they didn't had oysters available Rui managed to get some fresh ones from another restaurant. They do anything to make their costumers happy and the food is a 10/10. Will definitely come back next time.

It's situated right on the coast with stunning views of the ocean and sunset.
The seafood was extremely good both times - we had the grouper and the cod, and both were excellent. Decent wine list with some reasonably priced wines, as well as not so reasonably priced!
Staff were very helpful and service was good.

My friend and I took a drive up the coast from Cascais - beautiful drive it was - and stopped in at Monte Mar. such a delicious lunch - we had Ameijoas Bulhao Pato (Fresh clams in white wine sauce), Sapateira ou Santola Recheada (Stuffed/dressed brown crab), Gambas Tigre (Grilled Tiger Prawns - 1 each), teamed with red rice and Bom com salada. Superb!! All the more special with our wonderful and generous waiter Lima! Thank you for such a spectacular lunch by the ocean! 🙌

Excellent on all counts - service, food, atmosphere. You do need taxi/car to get there but taxis are cheap and reliable. We were given good advice by our waiter Juan on what to have, but all the waiters keep an eye on you if you need something

Monte Mar Cascais is a great choice for those looking for fresh seafood in a pleasant environment on the edge of the Atlantic. We made a reservation, which made the service much easier: it was quick, attentive and waiting.

The location is one of the strengths. The restaurant is practically over the sea, with a very beautiful view, ideal for a long lunch or a relaxed dinner. The decor is discrete and elegant, combining well with the coastal climate.

I chose the gambas dish with rice and garlic, which was very well served: fresh gambas, cooked at the right point and a creamy, tasty rice, but without excess spice. The balance of flavors was what I liked most — respecting the freshness of the ingredients. The wine list is good and focused on Portuguese labels, with options to harmonize well with seafood.

The price is compatible with what the restaurant offers: ambiance, view and quality of the dishes. It's not a cheap place, but it delivers what it promises. I recommend it especially for those who want to enjoy the view and eat well in Cascais, without surprises.

We were recommended by my wife’s colleagues and the restaurant did not disappoint. The staff were very helpful. The food was wonderful, seafood obviously, but also a delightful Portuguese style liver dish the was a delight. We followed with dessert.
